Folklore and foraging: a winter solstice wreath workshop
Join us on December 17th, 2 pm - 5:30 pm, for a festive exploration of ancient Yule and Winter Solstice traditions. Hosted by myself and Stirchley's resident Druid, Alex Lilly, experience a cozy afternoon of foraging, folklore, and wreath making. Embrace the solstice spirit on one of the longest and darkest nights of the year, celebrating the Sun's Rebirth as it appears to stand still in the sky for three days before bringing longer, brighter days. Explore Stirchley's green spaces, forage for evergreens, and adorn your wreaths with traditional foliage, red berries, ivy, and more. After giving thanks to the land, we’ll then gather at The Old Post Office for wreath crafting, merrymaking, feasting, and stories as the night unfolds.
