Rites of Passage Circle: connect to yourself and explore life’s transitions in community

“Circles started around the cook-fires of humanity’s ancestors and has accompanied us ever since. We remember this space. When we listen, we speak more thoughtfully. We lean into shared purpose”
From The Circle Way

Transitions have been a central theme in my life for several years now. I've experienced significant shifts—from divorce and peri-menopause to relocating across the country, coping with various losses, and pursuing a new path as a counsellor and therapist. Each of these transitions demanded dedicated time and space for processing, exploring, and reflecting. To support myself through these changes, I've established various practices. These include participating in circles and ceremonies, engaging in yoga, and adhering to my own rituals and spiritual routines. Creating these containers has been crucial for holding space for my emotions and allowing myself to grieve, despite the lack of natural cultural frameworks for such work.

In the past year, I've had the privilege of attending two beautiful rites of passage ceremonies—one for a friend getting married and another for a friend who had a baby. While these ceremonies were poignant, they underscored for me how many transitions and rites of passage in life often go unnoticed and uncelebrated. Whether it's menopause, graduation, health challenges, starting or ending a relationship, recognizing and honoring these pivotal moments can profoundly support us as we navigate change and transition.

Rites of passages can encompass a wide array of experiences including pregnancy, parenthood, coming out, spiritual transformations, shifts in life stages, career changes, pregnancy loss, relocation, gender exploration, and coping with loss. Regardless of whether these changes are welcomed or challenging, intentionally engaging with these rites of passage provides a meaningful opportunity for personal growth and deep reflection.

This circle is a space to do that. Whether you want to explore a specific life change or transition or you need a space to explore life’s ups, downs, ebbs and flows, this is a space for you.

In our circle we’ll

Open a sacred and intentional space
Explore practices such as meditation, gentle movement, journalling and embodiment
Explore guided reflection rites of passages, rituals and connected themes
Share reflections, experiences and struggles with our circle community
Have space to feel seen, heard and witnessed
Listen in, honour ourselves and honour each other

Each part element of The Circle is an invitation not an instruction. You are always welcome to come as you are and anything shared in the circle stays in the circle.

“You have a special way of holding space in such a gentle and inclusive way, it really is a gift.  My heart feels so full this morning I could burst like a confetti cannon into little floaty hearts of love”
- A testimonial from Tracey, a past participant in circles that I've held.

The Rites of Passage Circle welcomes anyone who would like to connect and engage with compassion, respect, openness, and empathy.

We welcomes anyone who would like to connect and engage with compassion, respect, openness, and empathy. We are open to people of all genders, gender non-conforming and gender expansive people (and anyone who doesn’t identify with any of these terms!), and people of all races, religions, and ages.

We especially welcomes neurokin, people with other disabilities, and anyone with access needs that are not catered for in other spirituality or well-being spaces. I am neurodivergent myself and The Circle will always be a place where neurodiversity is celebrated.
